Hydrogenated Castor Oil
$5.43 – $26.59
Hydrogenated Castor Oil is a hardened vegetable wax produced from pure castor oil through the chemical process of hydrogenation. Also known as Castor Wax, it is used on a daily basis and found in many products such as varnishes, cosmetics, and polishes. Hydrogenated Castor Oil is completely odorless when compared to pure castor oil. Due to its waxy, highly viscous, and more saturated nature, it is used to improve various cosmetics products. It acts as an emollient and thickener to increase viscousity of creams and lotions, and also stabillizes cosmetics by increasing their melting points.
INCI Name: PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil
Properties: Light yellow viscous liquid. It is miscible in water and oil. HLB value 15.
Use: Add as it is to formulas. Typical use level 1-5%.
Applications: An emulsifier, surfactant, and solubilizer. Cosmetic and skin care products such as creams, soap, and lotions.
