Sorbitol

Sorbitol is commonly used as a humectant and skin-conditioning agent. It is a naturally occuring polyalcohol and is also known as sugar alcohol. Sorbitol is found naturally in cherries, berries, plums… etc, and is widely used as a sugar substitute in food for diabetics. Sorbitol is also a common ingredient in mild soaps, baby shampoos, and aftershave lotions.
